Job Objective
The Accountant must ensure the timely processing and payment of supplier invoices according to payment terms and cashflow requirements. The Accountant must also ensure the proper reconciliation of inventory, fixed assets, intercompany invoices and prepayment schedules. The Accountant should also provide support towards generating accurate financial information to the management by reviewing and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports as per IFRS standards and FTA regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Process local and foreign supplier invoices accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with FTA regulations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for SOA reconciliation and invoice corrections.
  • Manage supplier payment schedules, cashflow requirements, and prepare payment proposals including foreign currency needs.
  • Perform monthly inventory reconciliations with the Stores team.
  • Handle Input VAT and RCM calculations, reporting, and filing.
  • Process and track advance payments based on urgency.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register and post monthly depreciation.
  • Manage prepayments, accruals, and ensure accurate month‑end reporting.
  • Oversee petty cash, bank payments/receipts, voucher preparation, and physical cash handling.
  • Ensure timely approval of petty cash expenses as per internal controls.
  • Process cheque payments, bank transfers, and maintain PDC/security cheque records.
  • Execute regular bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly intercompany invoices.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized filing of supplier invoices and related documents.
  • Uphold internal control procedures and financial security standards.
  • Support annual audits and assist in resolving accounting or budget variances.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and FTA regulations.
  • Should possess high level of honesty and integrity.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting software and MS Office applications.
  • Great Microsoft Office Excel skills.
  • Reliable, thorough, organized, accurate and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.
  • An effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Familiarity with accounting software; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing or project‑based industry is an added advantage but not mandatory.
