The primary purpose of this role is to maximize the scientific and commercial success of the Biosensor platforms. Through customer demonstrations, application support, assay development, training, and technical expertise, the Field Application Specialist drives technology adoption, supports sales growth, and ensures customers achieve high-quality research outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • →Conduct scientific demonstrations and evaluations of the Biosensors platform to support customer acquisition and drive sales growth.  
  • →Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot biophysical assays for the analysis of molecular interactions.  
  • →Provide technical training, scientific consultation, and hands-on application support to customers and collaboration partners.  
  • →Support researchers in studying binding kinetics in living cells, study affinity and avidities of molecular interactions and conformational changes of biomolecules.  
  • →Serve as the technical expert for single-cell Interaction Cytometry (scIC) and switchSENSE® technology, helping customers achieve successful experimental outcomes.  
  • →Collaborate closely with Sales, R&D, Engineering, and Service teams to ensure customer success and support business objectives.  
  • →Gather customer feedback and application insights to contribute to product improvements and new assay development. 
  • →Travel throughout Europe to support customers, deliver trainings, perform demonstrations, and strengthen scientific partnerships. 

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Biophysics, Chemistry Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience with biophysical or biochemical assay development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong scientific background in molecular interactions, binding kinetics, or biophysical assay. Experience with biosensor-based technologies is a strong advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, cell handling, and cell-based assay development is a plus.
  • Strong interest in translating complex scientific concepts into practical solutions for customers; previous experience in a customer-facing, applications, technical support, or scientific consulting role is advantageous.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and training skills, with the confidence to conduct scientific demonstrations and interact with researchers and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a cross-functional and international environment, collaborating effectively with Sales, R&D, Engineering, and Service teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, customer-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to travel (mainly Europe) to support customer demonstrations, trainings, and scientific collaborations up to 50%.
  • Fluent English skills (minimum C1 level) are required; German language skills are a plus.
