At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Planner based in West Jordan, Utah!  

The Maintenance Planner will plan preventive maintenance, schedule work orders, review work requests, coordinate manpower, prepare spare parts kitting, manage work backlog, ensure maintenance resource are used effectively, and ensure that work is ready to execute.

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

 

  • →Plan and schedule all Predictive, Preventive, and Condition Based Maintenance tasks to include resource availability, and help prioritize and escalate all critical work.
  • →Manage CMMS (MVP) Data to ensure asset criticality, spare parts and PM effectiveness and enter all requirements that accompany modifications and improvements.
  • →Monitor Work Order Backlog and schedule backlog work in a timely manner and ensure backlog health and stability.
  • →Provide support and training for CMMS to maintenance and leadership teams as required.
  • →Evaluate all work requests, working with Maintenance Leaders and mechanics, convert to work orders, and provide feedback to requestors as appropriate.
  • →Drive Continuous Improvement projects related to maintenance as assigned by working with operations and engineering alike.
  • →Generate and distribute KPIs, trend analysis, and MVP reports.
  • →Provides direct supervision to subordinates (such as the Parts Room Clerks), providing training and development opportunities, and conducting performance reviews and coaching sessions.
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, crawl, taste and/or smell, talk and hear.
  • Ability to bend & stoop at waist level as well as bend & twist neck and head.
  • The employee must regularly endure repetitive minimal to moderate lifting 10lbs up to 50lbs and occasional team lifting above 50lbs. Requires normal range of hearing and vision (including colors) to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports and results.
  • The employee is frequently standing on a concrete surface for 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts
  • Occasionally may need to climb on stairs, step ladders, stool.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and may be exposed to loud noises in the plant.  The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide the ability to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate. 

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Associates degree or two-year technical certificate in the field of manufacturing technology or equivalent technical studies, preferred
  • 5+ years’ maintenance experience preferred, preferably in a food/beverage manufacturing environment
  • Experience in CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) software, preferred
  • Working and practical knowledge of plant utility systems, (including boiler systems, commercial/industrial refrigeration systems, compressed air systems, waste water treatment)
  • Fundamental knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling systems, estimating, and budgeting
  • Working knowledge of PLC's, VFD's, Servo's and plant automation systems
  • Working knowledge of National, State, Local building codes, OSHA and standard industry safety rules/regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, safety rules, mechanical and electrical drawings, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to fill out routine reports, correspondence documents and to speak effectively when conveying information to other employees
  • Excellent MS Word, Excel, and Access software application skills
  • Demonstrated skills in composition, reading comprehension, and basic mathematics
  • Ability to identify problems, draw conclusions, and make recommended solutions
  • Self-directed and ability to make independent judgments
  • Team-oriented behaviors/attitudes; willing to cross train
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance function in a manufacturing facility
  • Demonstrated competency in reading/understanding diagrams, schematics, and shop drawings
  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation, may include working overtime, graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
