Responsibilities
~2 min readThe Facilities Manager directs the activities of the Facilities department and vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and prompt resolution of work requests. They are also responsible for documentation of compliance activities, filing appropriate compliance reports, and conducting the internal investigation of compliance issues to maintain Joint Commission accreditation and other regulatory agencies.
- →Directly oversees building requirements to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission, for life safety and environment of care needs.
- →Provides oversight to assigned team by supervising, guiding, and directing employees to be effective team members. Ensures that everyone is equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties. Using the established people processes (performance, development, succession, and career) to ensure that their team’s level of performance and capabilities meet current and future standards.
- →Serves as primary contact for contractors / vendors for routine and emergency building related issues associated with maintenance, life safety, environment of care, and project management needs ensuring compliance with code requirements and organizational standards. Solicits, reviews, and recommends contracts related to facilities operations and works with Facilities leadership to oversee contracts with vendors.
- →Manages the work request system to ensure timely and effective response and provides work request status information to team members.
- →Supports Quality & Compliance team with emergency management, creating and editing policies and procedures as needed. Acts as Safety Officer for region.
- →Provides on call coverage to support facility emergencies.
- →Reconciles and tracks invoicing from vendors and provides feedback to accounting on changes or needs.
- →Participates in quarterly environment of care rounds with vendors, property management, housekeeping, Quality & Compliance, and other parties to ensure life safety and environment of care compliance.
Requirements
~1 min read- High School or GED - (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related; Or formal apprenticeship or technical school. (Preferred)
- Driver license with safe driving record (Required)
- Certification in electrical, mechanical or plumbing (Preferred)
- 4-6 years of hospital facility management, plant operations, or maintenance experience (Required)
- Knowledge of The Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care standards (Required)
- Certified Healthcare Facilities Engineer (CHFM) or Certified Facilities Manager (CFM)
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time with working occasional nights and weekends.
The compensation range for this position is based upon candidate experience and market expectations.
