Broadband & Services Core Operation Engineer

Job Purpose

To ensure the smooth operation of the core network to be aligned with the settled network availability, and to provide deep technical resolution and supportive actions required to minimize the resolution time.
 
Job Responsibilities:
-    Troubleshoot and maintain different type of MPLS-VRF L3/L2 instances in conjunction with dealing in different MP-BGP/VPNv4 routing context and provision appropriate service differentiators (QoS) on various circuits for optimal end to end service delivery.
-    Administrate and troubleshoot IP/MPLS TE Tunnels using different algorithms (RSVP-TE/FRR) to provide an efficient traffic distribution over core links.
-    Manage and Control traffic flow among multiple upstream BGP peering providers/Links and to apply the appropriate policies / selection criteria required to provide seamless traffic pattern across the gateway links.
-    Working on advanced features in the IP Backbone such as OSPF tuning (failure detection, dampening, flooding, SPF Computation, Tunneling Protocols (GRE, IP-IP, and L2TP), and Ethernet VLAN stacking (QinQ, Dot1q …etc).
-    Define, validate /test and support any performance and operational issues or improvement across any standard Wi-Fi platform
-    Troubleshoot and maintain different type of DSL subscriber sessions termination/aggregation in term of PPPoX protocol stack together with the subscriber management functions in term of AAA, Policy management and dynamic QoS to provide a superb broadband service delivery
-    Identify and benchmarking key performance metrics (Packet Loss, Latency, Jitter, CPU, Memory, Resource Utilization…), and analyze them under variety of stress tests and periodic checks in order to maintain the required KPIs to meet the defined SLA.
-    Conduct channels with different vendors (Huawei, Cisco, NSN…etc) for technical support issues, follow up on the pending customer service requests (CSR) and coordinates with TAC team during critical outages, software upgrade or logs collections.
-    Providing support and provisioning for Linux/Unix Systems OSs (RedHat, CentOS, Fedora, Open Suse, Upuntu).
-    Providing support and provisioning for various security policies and procedures on different platform (CISCO PIX/ASA, Cisco ACL, Linux iptables).
-    Providing support and provisioning for various Virtualization Technology like VMware ESXi.
-    Provisioning and managing all users account settings regarding the Core Platform structure using TACACS/RADIUS platform.
-    Developing scripts/queries for analyzing and reporting for fixed broadband informational attributes from the AAA servers and automating system routine tasks using, but not limited to, Perl, bash, SQL.
-    Assuring the proper functionality for the required policy rules for traffic optimization along the IP Links and International Links, and providing in depth understanding for the applied mechanisms used by DPI Rules/ Caching Box/Content Filtering /Policy Control Platforms.
-    Operating   and troubleshooting a basic IP networks, layer two/three switches, routers, firewalls, LAN/WAN networking hardware and protocols. Thorough understanding of LAN Switching (L2 L3) including VLANs, Ether Channel, VTP, and Spanning Tree is required.
-    Conducting Training for the Front Office Engineers to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the integrity for both services and servers.
-    Participate in 24*7 on-call rotation and provide on-call consulting advice and technical support.
 

Qualifications and Experience
-    Bachelor’s Degree in Communication/Computer Science or related field.
-    Minimum 1 year of experience.
-    Cisco Certified Network Professional or equivalent.
-    Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating system
-    Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities
-    Database/Storage Administration.
