Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Flexible Hours between 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 
The Fleet Services Intern supports the Fleet Maintenance team by assisting with basic vehicle maintenance, shop operations, and fleet-related administrative tasks. This position provides hands-on experience in fleet operations while helping ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform basic mechanical tasks under the supervision of qualified technicians, including: 
    o Oil and filter changes
    o Tire inspections and pressure checks
    o Battery testing and replacement assistance
    o Fluid level inspections and top-offs
    o Light bulb replacement
    o Preventive maintenance support
• Assist technicians with vehicle inspections and maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Wash, fuel, and prepare fleet vehicles for service.
• Move and stage vehicles within company facilities as directed.
• Assist with inventory management, including stocking and organizing parts and supplies.
• Complete maintenance records and other documentation as required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in training opportunities to develop technical and professional skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
It is required that the candidate be a student actively pursuing a degree in automotive technology that is currently accepted and in good standing with an accredited technical school. Previous mechanical, automotive, or maintenance experience is preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and automotive tools.
• Ability to work safely in a shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving history.

Working Conditions:
This position works in both shop and outdoor environments and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, vehicle exhaust, moving equipment, and moderate noise levels. This position requires the: 
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in varying weather and shop conditions for extended periods. 
• Ability to safely operate fleet vehicles as authorized.
