Facilities Maintenance Technician
About Culton Companies, Inc.

Culton Companies, Inc. is an exhibit design studio and custom fabrication facility where multidisciplinary teams work under one roof to plan, design, and build creative environments for clients nationwide. Our work includes trade show exhibits, branded interiors, and experiential spaces built inside our 130,000 sq. ft. office, light manufacturing, and warehouse facility.

We operate in a straightforward, high-trust environment. Many of our employees have been with us long term. We value personal accountability, professionalism, and people who take pride in doing things the right way.

This role is critical to keeping our facility running safely, efficiently, and without disruption.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on, working facilities role. The majority of time will be spent personally performing maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting issues, and supporting daily operational needs of our building.

This is not a corporate facilities director position. We are seeking a practical, detail-oriented individual who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of a wide variety of responsibilities in a privately held company.

This role is well-suited for someone with solid hands-on experience who is looking for long-term stability and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations (Primary Focus – ~80%)
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout our 130,000 sq. ft. facility

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, compressed air systems, power tools, and general building systems

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and determine when outside vendors are required

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and functional work environment

  • Assist with equipment moves, shop reconfigurations, furniture assembly, and minor installations

  • Identify and address issues before they become larger problems

Vendor Coordination (~10%)
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors as needed (HVAC, electrical, landscaping, forklift service, etc.)

  • Schedule and follow up on service work

  • Assist with small facility improvement projects

Owner Property & Logistics Support (~10%)
  • Provide occasional support related to owner properties (primary residence, beach property, personal vehicles)

  • Assist with logistics such as vehicle movement and local pickups/deliveries

  • Occasional travel to beach property (~4.5 hours away)

Work Schedule
  • Monday–Friday, generally between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

  • Flexible start/end times possible

  • Occasional evenings or weekends as needed

  • Some flexibility and responsiveness required when issues arise

Qualifications
  • 3 - 5+ years of hands-on building facilities & maintenance experience

  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude

  • Comfortable personally performing repairs and physical tasks daily

  • Experience coordinating vendors and service providers

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • High degree of discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work directly with ownership

  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Frequent walking, climbing ladders, bending, and hands-on physical work

What We’re Looking For

The right candidate will:

  • Take pride in maintaining a well-run, organized facility

  • Notice details others overlook

  • Enjoy variety in daily responsibilities

  • Be calm, dependable, and solution-oriented

  • Thrive in an environment with autonomy and accountability

Compensation & Benefits
  • $25–30 per hour (DOE)

  • Non-exempt position

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Health, vision & dental insurance options

  • Tools and equipment provided

  • Use of company vehicles when required for work tasks

Why Join Us

This role offers long-term stability, daily variety, and the opportunity to be trusted with meaningful responsibility. It is ideal for someone who prefers a practical, hands-on environment over a large corporate structure and values independence, accountability, and steady work.
