As an Operations Lead, you will be responsible for a portfolio of advanced technology programs and the engineers, scientists, and technical leaders who deliver them. You will operate at the intersection of execution excellence, people development, and program financial performance, helping teams transform ambitious technical ideas into capabilities that matter for national security missions. 

This role is ideal for leaders who enjoy developing people, solving organizational challenges, improving execution, and building healthy, high-performing teams. 

What You'll Do 

  • Drive Execution Excellence 
  • Oversee a portfolio of advanced technology programs across computer vision, signal processing, AI/ML, software, and related mission areas. 
  • Ensure programs meet customer commitments, technical objectives, schedules, and budgets. 
  • Identify risks early and help teams remove obstacles before they become major problems. 
  • Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, technical leads, and program leaders to continuously improve delivery performance. 
  • Foster transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision making across your operation. 
  • Lead People and Develop Leaders 
  • Serve as the primary organizational leader for approximately 20-30 engineers and mission staff. 
  • Support employee growth through coaching, feedback, recognition, career development, and promotion discussions. 
  • Develop the next generation of technical, program, and organizational leaders. 
  • Help create a culture where talented people can do their best work while continuing to grow professionally. 
  • Partner with coaches, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and technical leaders to support employee success. 
  • Own Program Financial Performance 
  • Partner with program leaders, Project Control, Finance, and Mission Leads to understand and improve program financial performance. 
  • Maintain visibility into revenue, margin, staffing, forecasting, and delivery trends across your portfolio. 
  • Help teams understand the relationship between program decisions, customer outcomes, and business results. 
  • Balance financial discipline with technical excellence, customer success, and employee development. 
  • Build and Sustain Great Teams 
  • Work with Mission Leads, Talent Acquisition, and technical leaders to ensure the right people are working on the right problems. 
  • Participate actively in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. 
  • Anticipate staffing needs and help shape workforce plans that support both current execution and future growth. 
  • Strengthen collaboration across teams, programs, and mission areas. 
  • Contribute to the long-term health and effectiveness of the organization. 

What We're Looking For 

Required 

  • Active TS/SCI clearance. 
  • Demonstrated success leading technical teams, programs, or organizations. 
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community customers. 
  • Experience managing program execution involving cost, schedule, staffing, risk, and customer commitments. 
  • Experience developing employees, leaders, and high-performing teams. 
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgets, resource planning, forecasting, or program financial management. 
  • Technical fluency in one or more relevant areas, including computer vision, signal processing, AI/ML, software engineering, sensor systems, or data platforms. 
  • Strong communication, coaching, and organizational leadership skills. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical, scientific, business, or related discipline. 

Preferred 

  • Experience leading multiple programs or teams simultaneously. 
  • Experience managing organizations of approximately 20-30 technical staff. 
  • Experience with applied AI/ML, computer vision, RF or signal processing, autonomous systems, or advanced software systems. 
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, and developing technical employees. 
  • Experience leading Agile teams and organizations. 
  • Advanced degree in a technical, scientific, or business discipline.
