We have several exciting on-going projects with clients across both commercial & naval marine domains and are seeking to expand our existing Marine Engineering Design capability.

As an Associate Design Engineer every day at Expleo will be out of the ordinary and will require you to be dynamic and responsive to changes in technology, innovation, and client requirements. You will have the opportunity to get involved in vessel and engineering design. The creation of new & innovative tools & processes, the delivery of engineering consultancy services, and the development of new business opportunities across a wide range of UK maritime programmes.

Your primary place of work will be Derby.

Responsibilities

  • →Creation of CAD Models and Drawings: Producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to meet required standards.
  • →Design Deliverables: Ensuring all design deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
  • →Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders during appropriate design phases to ensure coordination and functionality of design.
  • →Technical Support: Providing technical support during the construction and installation phases.
  • →Perform self-verification of work.
  • →Reporting of technical progress and issues to line management.
  • →Be aware of and ensure that safety, health and environmental requirements are implemented
  • →Assist with the maintenance and improvement in quality standards of outputs.
  • →Change embodiment.

Requirements

  • The candidate is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification / experience in relatable discipline subject.
  • A readiness to grow & develop your technical & behavioural competence to operate at the cutting edge of your discipline.
  • The drive to work in a collaborative environment with a natural curiosity and continuous improvement approach, challenging yourself and others to find new solutions.
  • A passion to grow & support others through strong technical leadership, helping to identify new opportunities for technical & behavioural development and progression.
  • Have an understanding of the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding/ship repair terminology and practices.
  • Be proficient in the use of one or more parametric/spec driven CAD system both in a 3D & 2D environment.
  • FORAN.
  • Windchill.
  • The successful candidate will ideally have post-graduate experience working in the naval maritime domain or other highly regulated industry.
