We are seeking an inspiring, grounded, and values-driven Direct Support Manager to join our team in Axtell. Grounded in our core values of belonging, connection, faithfulness, and grit, you will steward human and financial resources while demonstrating Mosaic’s Practices of Leadership.

As a Direct Support Manager, you will oversee residential service operations, leading a dedicated team of associate direct support managers and staff. You will ensure that operations remain compliant with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards while managing within assigned budgets. Above all, you will model and foster a warm, therapeutic environment where individuals served can thrive.

Responsibilities

    Lead & Inspire: Schedule, coach, and supervise direct support supervisors and staff to build a high-performing, compassionate team.

    Program Oversight: Coordinate and manage the implementation of individual program plans and monitor day-to-day operations.

    Advocacy & Support: Ensure individual medical, social, and programmatic files are accurately maintained using electronic documentation. Coordinate appointments and community activities for the people served.

    Operational Excellence: Maintain residential facilities and vehicles, prepare accurate administrative reports, and manage local financial accounts, petty cash, and grocery/supply purchasing.

    Safety & Compliance: Monitor safety guidelines, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and OSHA regulations across environments.

    Hands-On Leadership: Train and guide staff in positive, emotionally supportive interactions. Step in to work direct care shifts when needed to maintain required staffing ratios, and provide guidance during emergency situations on an on-call basis.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related field (relevant experience accepted in lieu of a degree).

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related work experience, including at least 1 year of supervisory or management experience. Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is preferred.

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards, medication administration guidelines, and basic budget management.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills.

  • Ability to translate administrative guidance into actionable, everyday care routines.

  • A patient, positive attitude and a passion for working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive/travel as needed.

  • Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

  • Certification in State Medication Aide 40 and MANDT de-escalation certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

  • Ability to engage in frequent physical activity including standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, crouching, and balancing.

  • Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds independently, push/pull up to 40 pounds of force, and safely transfer 50 pounds.
