Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the seventh grade.
Must have, or be able to obtain, certification in emergency first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and the use of an automated external defibrillator [22.1-178].
Successful completion of the FCPS transportation attendant training program.
Must complete the Virginia Board of Education training program on autism spectrum disorders [8VAC20-70-350].
Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to communicate with students and drivers in English.
Concern for the well-being of, and desire to assist general education students and/or students with disabilities.
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with fellow workers, students, and families.
Sufficient strength and agility to move, lift, and secure students and equipment and assist students with entering and exiting bus, automobile, and/or taxi in regular and emergency situations.
Possession of the oral and written communication skills required to perform the assigned tasks.
Regular attendance, punctuality in reporting to work, and timely submission of attendance and leave requests.
Proficiency in the use of technology.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
