Cargo Claims Coordinator

The Cargo Claims Coordinator serves as a subject matter expert on claims law, processes, and outcome expectations. This role manages the entire claims process for managed transportation and freight solutions customers, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and contractual terms to minimize risk to FXL and its clients. Ongoing education and training are required to stay current with industry trends and legal precedents.

• →Identify and compile legally required claim documentation from stakeholders including service providers, customers, shippers, consignees, warehouses, and operations personnel.
• →Research, evaluate, and validate claims.
• →Prepare and present valid claims to service providers within legal parameters.
• →Leverage claim law, contract terms, FDA guidelines, and case history to recover payment for customers.
• →Negotiate equitable settlement agreements between customers and service providers.
• →Advise customers on claim status, outcomes, and settlement recommendations, including unfavorable results.
• →Perform root cause analysis to identify recurring damage issues and recommend solutions.
• →Lead regular meetings with operations and logistics sourcing advisors to drive accountability and finalize claims efficiently.
• →Create and deliver monthly reports summarizing claim status and potential risks to leadership.
• →Develop and maintain work instructions; ensure process improvement and SOP compliance.
• →Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• →Perform other duties as required.

• High school diploma required.
• 2 years of relevant transportation operations experience required.
• 5 years of transportation operations experience preferred.
• Understanding of shipping processes and dock operations.
• Experience with TMS, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.
• Transportation operations experience including claims preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

• Ability to sit, walk, or stand for the duration of the shift
• Must possess visual acuity to perform essential job functions

• Ability to lift/carry items up to 50 pounds
