We are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to manage and support international and domestic logistics operations. The role will be responsible for coordinating import and export shipments, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing logistics partners, and supporting cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in international logistics operations, export/import documentation, and freight coordination.
You will report to the Lead-International Logistics.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Coordinate international export shipments from India to the United States and other global destinations.
- →Support India domestic transportation operations and manage imports operations.
- →Prepare, review, and maintain import/export documentation, including CI, PL, COO, EVD, SDF, SCOMET, SLI, AWB, BL/SWB, Shipping Bill documentation, BOE, and E-way bills.
- →Arrange shipment bookings and pickups with courier companies, freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, and transport partners across air, sea, and road.
- →Monitor cargo transit and ensure on-time delivery while proactively resolving shipment delays or logistics issues.
- →Coordinate closely with customs house agents (CHA) to ensure smooth customs clearance and regulatory compliance.
- →Handle shipping escalations, customs delays, and delivery issues, ensuring timely resolution and stakeholder communication.
- →Maintain accurate import/export documentation records in compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.
- →Provide freight quotations, tariff estimates, route planning, and transit time analysis to support the costing and operations teams.
- →Coordinate with internal warehouse and 3PL partners to ensure smooth receiving, storage, packing, and dispatch activities.
- →Analyze on-time delivery performance and transit times, and recommend improvements to enhance logistics efficiency.
- →Verify freight invoices and support freight cost tracking and analysis.
- →Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, courier partners, and transport vendors to ensure efficient shipment execution.
- →Collaborate with manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure shipment readiness and adherence to shipping schedules.
- →Work closely with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Quality, Costing, and Finance to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- →Support team with pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation, vendor invoice verification, and audit requirements.
- →Utilize ERP systems and logistics tools for shipment tracking and operational management.
- →Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies in logistics operations.
- →Provide operational support and guidance to junior logistics coordinators if required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in international logistics, freight operations, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong knowledge of India’s import/export regulations, customs procedures, and EXIM documentation.
- Experience handling air and ocean shipments
- Familiarity with HS code classification, customs duties, valuation, export incentive schemes, country of origin requirements, and free trade agreements.
- Experience coordinating with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and MS Office tools (especially Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of EXIM customs compliance will be an added advantage.
