Team Leader

Are you an experienced food service professional who enjoys leading a team and making a difference through quality service? Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital is looking for a Team Leader to join our Nutritional Services team!

This is a great opportunity to bring your food service experience into a healthcare environment while helping ensure patients, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, safe, and timely meal service.

As a Team Leader, you will help oversee the daily operations of Nutritional Services and provide direction and support to employees throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• →Help lead daily Nutritional Services operations and maintain high standards for food preparation and service
• →Provide direction to staff to ensure quality, sanitation, safety, and operational standards are met
• →Ensure food is prepared and served using safe and sanitary practices
• →Monitor food temperatures, recipes, portion control, and required documentation
• →Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment
• →Participate in daily production and culinary planning meetings
• →Assist with staffing schedules, timecards, and labor budget responsibilities
• →Assist with ordering and effective use of food, paper, cleaning, and other supplies
• →Help ensure timely and accurate meal service for customers
• →Oversee safe and efficient dish room and pots-and-pans operations
• →Assist with employee training, orientation, competency requirements, and development
• →Participate in departmental and safety meetings
• →Support recruitment and retention efforts
• →Ensure proper cash-handling procedures are followed
• →Help maintain equipment, safety standards, and uniform/dress code requirements
• →Step in to cover staffing vacancies when needed

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous food service experience
• Ability to provide direction, delegate responsibilities, and gain cooperation from team members
• Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Computer literacy
• Professional and courteous approach when working with others
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion

• A.A.S. in Food Service Management
• Previous team leadership experience
• Healthcare food service experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office products
