As a Director of Accounting, you'll start your day with a clear view of the organization's financial performance, reviewing accounting activity, financial reporting, and key business trends. You'll oversee the accounting function and ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and aligned with accounting standards and regulations. You'll use your financial expertise to identify trends, evaluate risks, and provide meaningful insights that help executive leadership understand the organization's financial position and make informed decisions.

Throughout the day, you'll lead and develop the accounting team while overseeing critical areas including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting operations. You'll partner with leaders across the organization to provide financial guidance, address complex accounting matters, and support strategic planning and business initiatives. You'll also evaluate and strengthen accounting processes, policies, and controls to promote accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

You'll play an important role in shaping the organization's financial strategy and supporting long-term business objectives. Whether you're analyzing financial results, developing forecasts, advising executive leadership, or identifying opportunities to improve accounting operations, you'll bring together financial insight, leadership, and strategic thinking. Every day, your work will help ensure the organization has accurate information, strong financial foundation, and guidance needed to support continued growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • →Manage the expense report process, including third-party software
  • →Develop and implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs to maintain financial controls and guidelines
  • →Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • →Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • →Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies and procedures, and proper internal controls
  • →Provide comprehensive updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
  • →Ensure accounting is servicing the needs of operations and management and continually improving customer service experience
  • →Travel up to 25%
  • →Valid passport for international travel
  • →Other duties and special projects, as needed
  • 7+ years of accounting experience in a mid to large size preferably public company
  • 5+ years of experience with a major public accounting firm
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
  • CPA license (or progress towards CPA completion), preferred
  • Knowledge of NetSuite, preferred
