A Day in the Life of a General Manager

As a General Manager, you'll start your day by looking at the big picture-reviewing business performance, operational priorities, customer needs, and financial results to determine where your focus is needed most. You'll provide leadership and direction across departments, ensuring teams are aligned with company goals and positioned to deliver strong results. From managing budgets to evaluating performance, you'll make informed decisions that keep the business moving forward.

Throughout the day, you'll work closely with department leaders and team members to address challenges, improve processes, and ensure day-to-day operations run efficiently. You'll hire, develop, and coach employees while creating an environment where teams can perform at their best. You'll also establish and reinforce policies and procedures, monitor customer satisfaction, and collaborate with senior leadership to align local operations with broader organizational objectives.

You'll also spend time analyzing financial reports, identifying trends, and looking for opportunities to improve profitability and drive sustainable growth. Whether you're supporting your team, strengthening customer relationships, managing resources, or developing new strategies, you'll be at the center of the business's success. Every day, your leadership will help bring people, operations, and business strategy together to deliver exceptional results and create a strong foundation for continued growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute the company's vision - provide exceptional experiences for our employees and our customers
  • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training, development, and engagement
  • Lead the development and implementation of short - and long-term strategic objectives for assigned regions to maximize performance and profitability
  • Review customer feedback to monitor service-delivery performance, identifying and rectifying any deficiencies
  • Maintain compliance with corporate processes, systems, and standards
  • Embrace and champion our safety culture
  • Develop annual strategic plan for regional office growth
  • Review invoices and accounts payables/receivables
  • Manage overall collections for the branch
  • Ensure maintenance of adequate job-related equipment and materials
  • Ensure job cost and procedures
  • Receive, develop, and hold sales team accountable to driving revenue in the marketplace
  • Oversee operations team to ensure overall profitability, performance, and quality of work
  • Participate in annual budgeting process
  • Accountable for the individual branch P/L performance
  • Valid driver's license required
  • After hours and weekend availability
  • Current passport or ability to obtain passport and travel without restrictions
  • Extended travel occasionally
  • Seven (7) or more years of industry-related experience
  • Three (3) or more years of progressive management or leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience
  • Valid driver's license required
