Technical Lead - Broadbeach, QLD

 We are looking for a Technical Lead to provide day-to-day technical leadership of software engineering across our development team, spanning the full software development life cycle: analysis, design, build, test, release and support. This is a senior individual-contributor role for a versatile engineer who moves fluidly between maintaining the Azure platform our systems run on and delivering hands-on full-stack engineering across our new customer-facing booking applications (B2C, B2E, B2B), with the balance shifting as business priorities change. You will hold autonomy over technical decisions for the team, working closely with the Head of Engineering, our Solution Architect, and the wider engineering group.

A day in the life:

• Deliver hands-on full-stack engineering across B2X applications, prioritising customer-facing booking (React/TypeScript and .NET on Azure)
• Maintain and operate the Azure platform (Container Apps, API Management, Key Vault, networking, Bicep) to ensure security and reliability
• Build integrations between applications and Connect/Commerce APIs to enable dynamic booking functionality
• Lead adoption of AI-powered engineering tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), setting standards and uplifting team capability
• Provide technical leadership in agile teams, ensuring high-quality, secure, and maintainable code through peer reviews
• Apply best practices for scalability, performance, and security, including PCI compliance and data privacy
• Collaborate with the Solution Architect to align engineering delivery with architecture standards
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and accessible work environment where all Flighties feel welcomed, respected, and supported to thrive

Who you are:

• Strong proficiency in agentic software engineering using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot)
• Extensive experience with Azure cloud platforms and infrastructure (Container Apps, API Management, networking, Bicep)
• Strong full-stack experience: .NET backend and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, TypeScript)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Technical Lead or similar role delivering high-quality software
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy) and version control (Git)
• Strong experience with REST APIs, integration, and API lifecycle management
• Strong expertise in Entity Framework, SQL, data modelling, and OOP principles
• Desirable: Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central, test automation, AWS, and observability tools (e.g., Grafana)
