Flower is Flexible Power. We are a next-gen energy company leveraging AI and machine learning to make renewable energy stable and always available – even when the sun isn't shining and the wind isn't blowing.

Through smart optimization and trading of energy assets like wind and solar farms, battery systems, and EV chargers, we make renewable energy reliable and predictable, leading the charge towards the energy system of tomorrow.

Tech company at heart. Purpose-driven at core. Flower consists of a diverse group of innovative individuals with a strong desire to improve the state of the world.

At Flower, we believe trust, collaboration and diversity are essential to not only create an inclusive work environment, but also drive career growth. By embracing varying perspectives, we allow creativity and progress to flourish.

To accelerate towards our goal of becoming the pioneering force powering the energy system of tomorrow, we are now looking for a passionate and skilled Asset Manager to take ownership of our energy assets in Germany.

About the Role

~3 min read

You will take full management ownership of a defined portfolio of Flower's Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets in Germany throughout their operational lifetime. As the accountable owner, you direct day-to-day management, oversee service providers and contractors and make the calls on operational and commercial matters within your portfolio. Availability and cost are at the core of the role: you ensure your assets deliver industry-leading uptime, treat downtime as a direct threat to portfolio value and own the budget and financial result your portfolio delivers to Flower. You will report to the Head of Asset Management in Stockholm.

What You'll Do:
  • Own portfolio availability as a core KPI, track, report and drive corrective action on downtime

  • Hold O&M providers and subcontractors accountable to availability guarantees and SLAs, enforcing penalty or bonus clauses where needed

  • Own the portfolio's cost base end-to-end, build and manage budgets, forecast variances and identify concrete cost-reduction opportunities

  • Negotiate and renegotiate O&M, insurance and service contracts to secure the best combination of cost efficiency and availability

  • Drive root-cause analysis on recurring faults and unplanned downtime, prioritizing fixes by their impact on availability and lifecycle cost

  • Act as the main point of contact for landowners, municipalities, grid operators and regulatory authorities

  • Ensure compliance with German regulatory frameworks, including permitting, licensing and reporting obligations

  • Benchmark asset and contractor performance and feed insights into procurement and maintenance strategy to improve cost-per-MWh

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (Asset Optimization, Technical Asset Management, Finance, Legal) to ensure availability and cost targets are jointly owned

Who You Are:
  • An experienced Asset manager with several years in renewable energy or energy storage, with a proven track record of improving availability and reducing operating cost

  • Commercially strong, with hands-on experience in budgeting, cost control and financial reporting for energy assets

  • Experienced in managing and enforcing O&M and service contracts against availability guarantees and SLAs, including penalty/bonus mechanisms

  • Well-versed in German energy regulation and market frameworks (EEG, BImSchG, grid connection and metering requirements)

  • Technically strong in energy asset hardware and operations (BESS, solar and/or wind), enough to assess downtime root causes and their cost impact

  • Confident managing external stakeholders, landowners, grid operators, authorities and service providers, in a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment

  • Fluent in German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills

It's a plus if you have:
  • A technical or engineering degree, or equivalent, with a focus on energy systems or renewable energy

  • Experience with Asset management or SCADA/monitoring platforms (e.g. Bazefield or similar)

  • Familiarity with BESS revenue models, including ancillary services and capacity markets

  • An existing network within the German renewable energy and grid operator landscape

This role is remote and based in Germany, with the possibility to work from multiple locations.

Our corporate language is English, as we have over 30 nationalities in the company. We therefore appreciate it if you could submit your CV in English.

We look forward to hearing from you!
