Our Team.

A strong team is the DNA of our company.

Our team brings together experts in Mechanical Engineering, Software, E/E, Manufacturing, Homologation, Testing, Purchasing, Business Development, and Sales & Marketing. At Flux, we work as equals and foster a highly motivating environment shaped by shared ownership, flat hierarchies, and a strong team spirit. Here, you will not only develop your skills, but also make a real impact. Join our team and help shape the mobility of tomorrow.

We are looking for a Working Student in Electrical Engineering who supports our E/E team in the lab and in the electrical documentation of our vehicles.

In this role, you work hands-on with the electrical systems of our electric commercial vehicles — LV power net, HV distribution, contactors, sensors, control units and wiring harnesses. You set up measurement rigs, run tests on components and vehicles, and make sure the results are recorded in a way the team can rely on later.

The second part of the role is our electrical documentation. Schematics, pin assignments, connector lists and harness drawings are the basis for everything we build and troubleshoot. You keep this documentation accurate and aligned with what is in the vehicle.

This is not a role where you watch. You get your own topics, your own measurements and your own part of the documentation — with an engineer as your point of contact, not as your supervisor for every step.

  • Set up and maintain test benches and measurement rigs for electrical components and subsystems.

  • Perform measurements: voltage and current profiles, insulation resistance, contact and continuity resistance, thermal behaviour of busbars, connectors and cabling.

  • Record and analyse CAN bus traffic, read fault memories and prepare the data for the engineering team.

  • Write measurement protocols and test reports that hold up as verification records.

  • Support troubleshooting and commissioning on prototype and field vehicles.

  • Maintain and update circuit diagrams following engineer approval.

  • Build and maintain pin assignment, connector and wire lists, and derive harness drawings from them.

  • Reconcile as-built vehicles against the documentation and log deviations so they get fixed instead of forgotten.

  • Keep lab equipment, calibration status, adapters and cable stock in order.

  • Ongoing studies in electrical engineering, mechatronics, energy engineering or a comparable field, from the 3rd bachelor semester onwards.

  • Solid fundamentals in measurement technology, electrical engineering and reading schematics.

  • A careful, documentation-driven way of working — with us, traceability counts as much as the measurement itself.

  • Willingness to work to safety rules without shortcuts. You will work as an electrically instructed person under the responsibility of a qualified electrician; independent work on energised HV systems is excluded. HV awareness training and instruction in our de-energisation procedures are provided.

  • First experience with E-CAD (Altium), CAN bus or Python / MATLAB for data analysis is an advantage, not a requirement.

  • Languages: German and English.

  • Availability of around 20 hours per week, on-site, for at least 6 months — with flexibility around lectures and exam periods.

  • Experience level is less important than technical understanding, care, ownership and the ability to communicate clearly.

At Flux, we develop electric commercial vehicles in small, highly responsible teams. Our vehicles are already operating in the real world – on construction sites, in cities and in the daily operations of our customers.

That means your measurements and your documentation go into vehicles that are actually driving. Engineers here take responsibility for their systems throughout the entire development cycle, and as a working student you are part of that – not next to it.

If you want to understand electrical systems by measuring them yourself, and you see the value in documentation that is actually correct, this role is a good fit for you. There is the option to continue with a bachelor's or master's thesis, and afterwards as a permanent team member.

About Flux.

Flux Mobility AG was founded in April 2021. Our mission is to develop high-quality light commercial vehicles with innovative, emission-free drivetrain technologies and to electrify specialist vehicles in Winterthur.

Our vehicles are built on a flexible platform concept that enables the direct replacement of diesel vehicles on a one-to-one basis. In doing so, we are helping to drive the sustainable transformation of industrial mobility and enabling companies to realise the full potential of electric mobility.
