Manage Glazing production in Salt Lake City by using Flynn’s Safety and Quality focused culture. Manage through understanding and leveraging, estimate and actual labor hours, production schedule and order processing, establishing lead times, upholding top quality standards, and top costumer services.

Communication bridge between project management and production shop.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a Safe work environment for staff by ensuring that the prevention of accidents and injuries is integrated into all aspects of the occupational environment.
  • Enforce company Policies and Procedures.
  • Identify training needs for employees.
  • Review shops drawings (as required), process sheets, work orders, shop hours, completion targets relative to each department and workstation or lines.
  • Work with Foreman to prioritize staffing assignments. Requests for OT when required.
  • Review & Approve labour balancing hours weekly for payroll.
  • Collaboratively work with support staff such as Shipping/Receiving, ACM Department, Maintenance Technicians, Production Coordinators, PM’s, Engineering, Foremen etc. too resolve issues.
  • Report previous days production results for respective areas; Output, Hours, Variances, Buffers & Reasons for any problems/successes. 
  • Overseeing daily/weekly planning of shop production processes in Glazing. 
  • Review & communicate safety, quality, and productivity issues/results daily with team in morning huddles (T1 Meeting).
  • Communicate and Motivate, Mentor team/individuals on a daily basis with Staff.
  • Attend Daily T2 Meeting with all department foreman and managers to review issues.
  • Attend weekly Production Meetings to ensure planning needs are met.
  • Attend End Of Day Meeting.
  • Work with Quality Control Department to ensure QC issues & standards are being addressed with team as per objectives and targets, implement corrective actions.
  • Address and deal with employees at the plant level (ie: lates, absents, harassment, etc).
  • Involved in interviews, selection, training & development of the workforce at the plant level. HR to be instructed on when to recruit, hire and terminate staff.
  • Monitor and lead team, ensure that each individual understands their role and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Management on Continuous Improvement opportunities.

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a Management Role within the Construction/and or Manufacturing setting. 
  • Previous experience in Glazing processing, manufacturing and operations, systems, and processes. 
  • Lean Manufacturing Knowledge and Training.  
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. 
  • Previous experience related to Glazing products, Curtain Wall & Store Front Systems or Unitized Curtain Wall Systems would be considered an asset.
