About the role:
The Lead Swell Attendant is responsible for coordinating merchandise receiving, inventory, stockroom operations, and replenishment while supporting the overall guest experience within Swell Boutique. This role partners closely with boutique leadership, team members, vendors, and buying partners to maintain accurate inventory and exceptional visual and operational standards. The position also provides support on the sales floor, delivering personalized service and contributing to the boutique’s sales goals. This position is part of the Swell Boutique team and reports to the Director of Spa & Retail.
What you will do:
- Receive, verify, unpack, and process incoming merchandise shipments, ensuring accuracy against packing documentation
- Accurately enter merchandise into retail systems and ensure products are correctly ticketed and prepared for the sales floor
- Prepare merchandise for presentation, including steaming clothing, preparing handbags, and ensuring products meet visual merchandising standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and easily accessible stockroom
- Replenish and restock merchandise on the sales floor while supporting visual merchandising and boutique presentation standards
- Conduct regular inventory and cycle counts, with particular attention to high-value merchandise
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to Retail Management promptly
- Coordinate the return, replacement, and shipment of damaged, consignment, duplicate, and vendor merchandise
- Prepare and ship merchandise to guests, vendors, and other store locations as needed
- Support ordering, purchase orders, invoice processing, and merchandise payments using designated retail and procurement systems
- Maintain regular communication with vendors and buying partners to support merchandise and inventory needs
- Assist Retail Management with the coordination and preparation of trunk shows and special boutique events
- Support the sales floor by assisting guests, sharing product knowledge, and providing personalized luxury service
- Help safeguard merchandise and company assets by maintaining secure receiving and stock areas
- Support repair and dry-cleaning processes for merchandise while maintaining accurate tracking
What you bring:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in retail, inventory, stockroom, warehouse, or a related environment
- Previous experience in luxury retail or hospitality preferred
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Experience with point-of-sale or retail inventory systems
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn procurement and retail management systems
- Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced retail environment
- High level of integrity and commitment to protecting merchandise and company assets
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with boutique leadership and team members
- Ability to stand throughout the shift, lift and maneuver boxes up to 50 lbs., and move boxes up to 100 lbs. using a hand truck
