We are growing our team and seeking out world-class talent that deeply believes in our mission to positively impact global health, has a relentless bias toward action, and a growth mindset. Function fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment where every day we build the future.
As Senior Accounting Manager, B2B Revenue, you'll own revenue accounting for Function Health's contract-driven business: memberships offered through employers and organizations, brand and channel partnerships, and gift card programs, along with the direct costs tied to each. It's a lower-volume, higher-dollar business that the company is investing to grow, and it's a build role. You'll design how this business runs from contract to cash: how agreements are reviewed, how customers are onboarded and invoiced, and how much of it runs without manual effort. The work sits upstream, closer to the deals and initiatives that shape what ends up on the books.
You'll also bring an accounting perspective to new initiatives across the company. As Product, B2B, and Partnerships teams develop new programs, pricing models, and deal structures, each one benefits from accounting input before it's built. You'll review product requirements documents and agreements, assess the ASC 606 implications, flag operational risks, and offer a point of view on how an initiative could be structured to reduce manual effort. You'll thrive here if you've built a B2B revenue process before, have worked through enough nonstandard contracts to recognize issues early, and instinctively look for creative ways to take manual work out of billing and collections.
You will report to the Senior Director, Revenue Accounting & Operations and operate as a senior leader within a lean, high-autonomy team. B2B revenue accounting is still being built, so you'll have real influence over how it works, from how contracts are structured and reviewed to the processes and systems that carry them through to invoicing and revenue, rather than stepping into a process someone else already defined. It's a strong fit if you're energized by ambiguity, confident building relationships well outside of accounting, and motivated by the opportunity to build something meaningful in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Own revenue and direct-cost accounting for Function's B2B business — employer and organizational memberships, partnerships, and gift card programs — and explain the margin it produces to leadership each close.
- →Design contract-to-cash from the ground up, so every new customer is contracted, onboarded, and invoiced the same way across Sales, Customer Success, and Partnerships.
- →Automate invoicing and collections so contract terms drive billing and cash with minimal manual touch.
- →Set the guardrails before deals are signed — reviewing contracts for ASC 606 treatment and working with Legal and commercial teams on templates that define which terms can flex.
- →Shape new initiatives while they are still on paper — reviewing product requirements, flagging accounting and operational risks, and recommending structures that are simpler to account for and run.
- →Build the accounting requirements process that makes new programs launch-ready, partnering with project and data teams so each one goes live with defined treatment and clean data.
- →Lead and develop the B2B team, expanding their ownership as the business grows.
- →Own the audit relationship for B2B revenue — defending contract judgments and keeping controls and documentation SOX-ready.
Requirements
~2 min read- 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant ownership of B2B or contract-based revenue; Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Experience building a B2B revenue process from the ground up — contracting, onboarding, invoicing, and collections — not only operating one that already exists.
- Deep, applied command of ASC 606 for contract-driven models — multiple performance obligations, principal vs. agent, variable consideration, contract modifications, employer-subsidized arrangements, and gift card breakage — with technical analyses that have held up with auditors.
- Builds strong relationships outside of accounting — credible with Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, Product, and Legal, and able to explain accounting consequences in their terms.
- Deal desk or contract review experience, with exposure to a wide range of standard and nonstandard contract structures and the judgment to know which terms matter.
- Self-directed — you take an open-ended problem, run with it, and come back with findings and a recommendation rather than waiting for direction.
- A track record of reducing manual effort in invoicing and collections in creative ways — through automation, system design, or process redesign — with specific examples you can walk through.
Great to Have:
- CPA certification (or equivalent).
- Experience coaching or managing accountants.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Ironclad (or a similar contract lifecycle management tool), ideally as the accounting owner defining requirements.
- Experience accounting for direct costs or contribution margin by revenue stream or customer.
- Exposure to consumer health, subscription or membership, or partnership business models.
- SQL or other data-querying experience sufficient to independently investigate transaction-level data.
- Hands-on use of AI or automation tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, advanced Excel/Sheets) in accounting or billing workflows.
- Ruthless Prioritization:
- We prioritize what drives impact.
- We never compromise on standards of excellence.
- Member-First, Always:
- We design and deliver like we’re caring for someone we love.

- One Team, Moving Fast:

- We act with urgency and precision.
- We anticipate, initiate, and follow through.
- We meet challenges with grit and pragmatism.
- We embrace new tech to deliver better outcomes.
- Mission Over Ego:
- We are ruthlessly aligned to our mission—and leave ego at the door.
- We disagree and commit.
- We don't tolerate politics or withholding information.
- We operate with honesty, transparency, and respect.
- Sustained Integrity in Every Detail:
- We earn trust by obsessing over accuracy, quality, and clarity in everything we do.
- We prioritize clinical precision—data must be right.
- We sweat the details because outcomes depend on them.
