The Quality Control Lead is responsible for developing, managing, and enforcing quality assurance and quality control practices within a highperformance maintenance environment. This role ensures that all maintenance activities, mechanical, electrical, and structuralmeet required workmanship, safety, documentation, and compliance standards while driving continuous improvement across the maintenance workforce.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control programs supporting maintenance, repair, and modification activities
  • Lead and mentor maintenance personnel in the proper application of quality standards, inspection criteria, and verification procedures
  • Establish and monitor quality performance expectations across all maintenance functions
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and evaluations of maintenance processes, tools, documentation, and completed work packages
  • Validate that repairs, component replacements, and system modifications meet defined quality standards and workmanship requirements
  • Review maintenance logs, checklists, and technical documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Apply and enforce workmanship standards, including: JSTD001, IPCA610, IPCA620
  • Use current NonDestructive Testing (NDT) certifications to perform inspections, identify defects, and verify the integrity of materials and components
  • Ensure maintenance personnel understand and correctly apply these standards in daily technical work.
  • Identify quality issues, nonconformances, and trends that impact maintenance performance.
  • Lead rootcause analyses and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Introduce process improvements to enhance accuracy, safety, efficiency, and documentation quality.
  • Support the proper execution and verification of preventative maintenance activities
  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are documented correctly and validated through quality checks.
  • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to embed quality checkpoints into daily maintenance operations
  • Provide training and mentorship to technicians and inspectors on quality requirements, inspection techniques, and workmanship standards
  • Support qualification tracking and competency development for maintenance and quality personnel.
  • Promote a culture of precision, accountability, and quality awareness
  • Ensure all maintenance and inspection actions conform to established safety procedures and operational policies
  • Identify potential hazards related to workmanship, tooling, material condition, or procedural lapses and implement corrective measures
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
  • Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Degree Required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance for facility, vessel, or platform access.
  • Must possess current NonDestructive Testing (NDT) certifications
  • Five (5) or more years performing maintenance, repair, or modification of aircraft or U.S. Navy shipboard mechanical systems
  • Five (5) years of concurrent experience supervising maintenance and repair activities in these environments
  • Strong technical background with direct exposure to inspection, verification, and maintenance quality standards
  • Extensive experience developing, implementing, and managing quality control programs within a maintenance environment.
  • Essential familiarity with: JSTD001, IPCA610, IPCA620
  • Proven ability to identify quality issues, analyze root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Technical training in mechanical systems, quality assurance, inspection methods, or related maintenance disciplines preferred.

  • This position includes physical activity, personnel must be able to work in environments with the following conditions: repetitive motion, ventilated spaces, heavy lifting, traversing ladders and inclines/declines, climbing/crawling/navigating small and confined spaces, working in kneeling positions, frequent standing, working in hot workspaces due to natural or manmade environments
