Galaxy Digital’s Hong Kong team form the cornerstone of our APAC operations. As the world of digital assets continues to grow, we are committed to staying ahead of the curve including taking a proactive posture towards the developing legal and compliance landscape. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Compliance team member to join our growing Legal & Compliance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with Compliance matters for our regional business lines and play a crucial role in ensuring our firm's compliance with global laws, regulations & standards and industry best practices. This is an in-person role and reports to Managing Director, General Counsel, APAC.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Interpret, maintain, and update internal policies and procedures in line with SFC regulations, guidelines and codes. Maintain and enhance local Compliance Manual and compliance workflows, with support from Group compliance team.
- →Provide compliance guidance and advise on regulatory requirements relating to sales and trading of virtual assets (VA), VA fund distribution, account opening, KYC, suitability, client onboarding and related matters.
- →Support General Counsel in liaison with regulators and managing licensing matters.
- →Assist on local compliance & financial crime compliance, governance and other matters, with support from Group compliance team.
- →Provide ongoing compliance training and guidance to employees to ensure a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
- →Be a standard-bearer for a positive compliance culture and work with the business to achieve best-in-class compliance outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (highly preferred), Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines.
- At least 7–10 years of relevant compliance experience in an SFC-licensed brokerage, investment firm, or other financial institution.
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong securities regulations, SFC Codes & Guidelines,
- Strong interest or experience with virtual asset or crypto-related compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience handling SFC compliance advisory work.
- Demonstrable experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance policies and procedures in a complex, fast-paced environment including through periods of regulatory change.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with drive to grow career in the virtual assets space.
- Ability to work independently and interact confidently with senior management and regulators.
- High level of integrity and commitment to professional ethics.
- Spoken and written languages: Fluent in English, Proficient in Chinese would be given priority.
