Senior Logistics Analyst – Naval Forces Logistics (NFL)
Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Senior Logistics Analyst supporting Naval Forces Logistics (NFL) across U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), Commander Pacific Fleet (CPF), Marine Forces Command (MARFORCOM), and Marine Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC). In this role, you will provide advanced logistics and readiness analysis, supply chain support, and process improvement expertise to Navy and Marine Corps shore, shipboard, and expeditionary units, directly impacting the material readiness and cost‑wise readiness of Naval Operational Forces (NOF). You will oversee tasking requirements, evaluate current logistics and AIS‑backed operations, and mentor junior and intermediate analysts.
At GDIT we recognize that people are our differentiators. As a Senior Logistics Analyst, you will play a critical role in transforming logistics data and operations into actionable insights and improvements for the Fleet. You will apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to assess logistics effectiveness and efficiency, analyze high‑priority readiness drivers, and recommend changes to policies, processes, and allowances that improve readiness and reduce cost for ships, aviation units, and expeditionary forces. You will also support inspections, assist visits, training, and financial and inventory management activities that underpin NOF readiness and audit readiness.
In this role, a typical day may include:
- Applying qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze logistics effectiveness and efficiency, including independent analysis of logistics readiness, cost‑wise readiness, and logistics initiatives.
- Reviewing, monitoring, and analyzing data from internal and external logistics activities and AISs to ascertain the state of NOF logistics readiness; developing performance metrics, reports, briefs, and presentations to support Government decision‑making.
- Reviewing, researching, tracking, documenting, and updating readiness drivers such as NORS/ANORS, NMCS/PMCS, CASREPs, CASCORs, 706/707 discrepancies, Broad Arrows, AWP, MICAPs, cannibalizations, and AMSRR requisitions/messages, and assessing their cause‑and‑effect on ship and aviation readiness.
- Assisting with identifying demand patterns and conducting allowance product analysis (e.g., TOAs, PUKs, Support Packages, Afloat/Base Spares Packages, MALSP/MALSP II, load lists, COSAL, AVCAL, IMRL); preparing Allowance Change Requests (ACRs) for NAVSUP WSS items and demand recommendations for DLA‑managed items within required timeframes.
- Conducting NOF allowance reviews and usage data analysis, ensuring accurate information for units undergoing outfitting, re‑outfitting, or grooming; making allowance recommendations based on analysis of RFI issues, EXREP repairs, and BCM actions.
- Supporting and/or conducting inspections, assessments, and assist visits across General Stores, Food Service, Retail Operations, Disbursing, 3M, HAZMAT management, and aviation logistics; preparing written reports delineating discrepancies, corrective actions, and process improvements.
- Providing technical and managerial logistics advice and guidance to NOF units; assessing manpower requirements and the impact of manning changes on logistics operations; identifying efficiency opportunities and recommending support for SLEP and fleet modernization requirements.
- Participating in logistics‑related meetings, CPI events, and working groups; reviewing and recommending updates to policies and instructions related to NOF logistics and readiness reporting tools such as DRRS‑N and related business information systems.
- Supporting financial and inventory‑related activities, including monitoring Disbursing Officer financial statements for trends and internal control issues, supporting causative research for inventory discrepancies, and assisting with property accountability and audit readiness functions for GE, OM&S, and IUS under Government oversight.
- Preparing and editing administrative, management, and technical documents (messages, reports, briefs, presentations), ensuring correct use of Navy logistics publications, directives, and business processes, and documenting daily executed tasks for inclusion in the MCTMR.
