Our established SA & NT Ecology Team works collaboratively with our private and public sector clients, to guide effective land management decision-making, and to deliver practical ecology solutions for conservation and infrastructure projects of varying scales.
Due to growing workload, we are seeking an experienced Ecologist to join our team in Adelaide or Darwin, and partner with a diverse range of stakeholders, while enjoying the support of passionate leaders, ongoing professional development opportunities, and all the resources you need to succeed.
- Supporting the delivery of biodiversity and ecological impact assessments, together with offset evaluations, to support project approvals and effective natural area management, including technical reporting and approval documentation
- Planning and delivery of flora, fauna and habitat surveys across metropolitan, regional and remote locations, including field data collection, species and vegetation community identification, ecological monitoring and spatial data interpretation.
- Providing advice on South Australian, Northern Territory and Commonwealth environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks, biodiversity policies and project approval pathways.
- Building relationships with clients, regulators, Traditional Owners, landholders and other stakeholders.
- Supporting graduate and junior ecologists by sharing technical knowledge, providing guidance on field and reporting activities
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Tertiary qualifications in botany, zoology, ecology or a related discipline, together with three to six years of professional experience in an environmental consulting or government role.
- →Experience in ecological surveys, assessment, monitoring, evaluation, technical reporting and vegetation management
- →Proficiency in identifying flora and/or fauna species, mapping plant community types and recognising threatened ecological communities.
- →Biodiversity impact assessment and offset evaluation experience beneficial.
- →Knowledge of South Australian or Northern Territory and Commonwealth environmental legislation, regulatory frameworks and biodiversity policies.
- →Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and support the development of junior team members.
- →A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to fieldwork in regional and remote locations.
We’re open to discussing full time or part-time options, and you can be based at our Adelaide or Darwin office (with some travel to Adelaide).
