The rental equipment service technician inspects, cleans, repairs, performs preventative maintenance on a variety of our rental equipment.

Essential Functions:

Provide excellent service to customers.
Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.
Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns. Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems. Offer solutions with add on sales when appropriate.
Perform any necessary customer service tasks including but not limited to; cutting keys, filling propane, running register, assisting with rental transactions, etc.
Provide services to customers at point of sale, including, but not limited to; running register, bagging items, assist with loading products, answering inquiries, etc.
Clean all rental equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance (oiling, filter changes, etc) on equipment.
Conduct repairs and maintenance on rental equipment; generate purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
Purchase small tools and any supplies needed to repair the equipment.
Inspect equipment on a regular basis to comply with company safety policies.
Demonstrate proper equipment usage and loading/unloading techniques for customers.
Maintain service records.
Assist in updating DMV registration and current insurance.
Check out customers at the rental counter, including completing contracts, taking payment and instructing customer on how to use the item.
Help load and unload equipment as needed.
Deliver and pick-up rental equipment as needed.
In presence of customer check equipment for damage, fuel levels, missing parts, etc.
Service and conduct repairs on Stihl equipment. Must have, or be able to obtain, certification.
Maintain a clean, organized and safe rental area.
Opening and closing store as assigned.
Store maintenance as needed including but not limited to; cleaning common areas, trash removal, parking lot and sidewalk sweeping, and snow removal.
Help out in lumber yard and inside the store as needed.
Ensure a safe working environment. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Other duties assigned as necessary.

Good organizational skills.
Proficient with computer skills.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not supervise team members.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the day.
Must be able to drive a truck to deliver and pick up rental equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs at times.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, scheduled up to 45 hours/week. Days and hours of work vary. Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends.

Required Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED
Mechanical expertise is a must for this position.
Valid drivers license; For-Hire Endorsement not required but preferred.
Stihl Certification – we can help you obtain this certification.
