Requirements
~1 min readActively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM major through the completion of the co-op session.
Completed at least 60 credit hours prior to the start of the internship/co-op session.
Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience with SolidWorks modeling.
Experience with VBA or other scripting languages.
Knowledge or experience with 3D modeling or laser cutting.

Responsibilities

Work with Industrial Engineers, production floor operators, and manufacturing support staff to resolve issues related to product flow, quality, ergonomics, and safety using state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques.

Develop or improve designs for fixtures or tooling to aid in manufacturing processes, including building, verifying, and implementing those fixtures using laser machines, 3D printers, and other manufacturing equipment.

Identify root causes of manufacturing defects and process inefficiencies, and implement effective corrective actions.

Program and operate manufacturing equipment such as laser machines and 3D printers to support fixture development.

Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Various manufacturing techniques used to build advanced electronic equipment.

How aerospace manufacturing environments function and operate effectively.

Skills to prioritize and balance multiple projects.
