Requirements

2 years of engineering experience, or an advanced degree in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Knowledge on Externals and/or Mechanical Systems engine components
M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
Proficiency in Teamcenter, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis
Theoretical to advance knowledge on Structural engineering through degree and experience

Responsibilities
~1 min readPratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles (MSEN) engineering module is seeking a highly motivated Structures Engineer to join our team.

Perform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service.

Serve as the structural representative on multi-disciplinary integrated product teams, providing balanced design solutions that meet customer requirements for durability, performance, cost, and weight.

Support validation test activities (engine and rig), including live monitoring of instrumentation relative to limits, post‑processing of test data, and evaluation against program requirements.

Assist with in‑service field investigations.

Conduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter, while applying classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.

Contribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods.

Document analysis results and present findings to management and external customers.

This role requires the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, combining onsite and remote workdays.

English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
