The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance requirements of a portfolio of entities operating across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. This role oversees accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, payroll, financial reporting, and tax compliance while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The position works closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, auditors, and service providers to support the financial management and regulatory obligations of multiple entities within the group.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must possess a professional accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
- Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of overall experience in accounting, client accounting, financial reporting, or a related finance role.
- Proven experience working with an Australian accounting firm is required.
- Exposure to accounting practices within New Zealand and/or Singapore firms is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements, and compliance frameworks is an advantage.
- Strong experience in financial accounting, reconciliations, month-end processes, management reporting, and general ledger management.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Experience supporting tax compliance, indirect tax reporting, and regulatory obligations within a corporate or professional services environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels.
Responsibilities

- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end accounting adjustments.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and accounting records.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items on a timely basis.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including payment preparation, review, and execution across multiple entities.
- Process management fee, rental, and other customer invoicing in accordance with contractual arrangements.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and coordinate follow-up activities to support timely collections.
- Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of supplier and customer transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts for assigned entities and business units.
- Maintain supporting workpapers and schedules to support financial reporting requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial analyses, variance reporting, and management insights.
- Support the CFO and management team with financial information required for business decision-making.
- Process payroll transactions in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies, and reporting requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy of employee compensation, statutory deductions, and payroll records.
- Coordinate payroll-related reporting and documentation requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of payroll information.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other indirect tax filings for Australian entities.
- Support GST, tax, and regulatory compliance requirements across Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore entities.
- Assist in meeting income tax compliance obligations through coordination with external accountants and tax advisors.
- Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure timely submission of compliance-related reports and filings.
- Liaise with external advisors, auditors, tax professionals, and service providers regarding accounting and compliance matters.
- Support audit engagements by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and requested documentation.
- Assist with finance-related projects, process improvements, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational and strategic business objectives.
