Software Engineer - All Levels

That’s why we are seeking strong Software Engineers, All levels to join one of our Product or Platform-based teams. Product-focused engineers work at the intersection of business needs and technical solutions, solving key customer problems. Platform-focused engineers build scalable, reliable, and extensible systems that empower product teams to move faster, deliver with quality, and focus on customer value.

You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters. We default to being in-office 3-4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are open to hearing from candidates who know different programming languages and are excited to learn more and grow their skills. Our current stack:

• Kotlin (micronaut, jooq), Ruby (Rails, Sidekiq), gRPC, protobuf
• Typescript / Javascript (React, Redux)
• React Native
• AWS, Kubernetes, Postgres, and Terraform

As a Software Engineer at GlossGenius, you'll play a critical role in shaping a platform that powers over 100,000 small businesses and processes more than $3 billion in payments annually. Engineers work on high-impact initiatives that support our rapid growth and evolving scale. Examples of your potential responsibilities include:

• →Develop, release, and run large-scale web applications that empower beauty and wellness businesses to operate and grow.
• →Build new AI features for our customers.
• →Develop and define our microservice-based infrastructure.
• →Build tools and solutions that enable internal teams to work faster, more effectively, with more confidence, and improve the value they can provide our users (Business Scalability team).
• →Work on core experiences such as making payments friction-free for clients and customers, building tools to help customers earn more per hour, or enabling businesses to effortlessly grow and manage their teams.
• →Focus on front-end development, crafting intuitive and engaging user experiences for our web and mobile applications.
• →Improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security for our backend systems.

What We’re Looking For

• →2+ years of professional experience in software development.
• →A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• →A strong desire to move fast and have a significant impact.
• →An entrepreneurial mindset, eager to take ownership and contribute new ideas to solve challenging problems.
• →Hands-on experience building with AI/ML APIs or LLMs, you've shipped something real using AI, whether in a production environment or a meaningful side project. You think critically about where AI adds genuine value and how to integrate it responsibly into a product.
• →Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
• →Demonstrates strong collaboration skills and team spirit.

The starting base salary for this role in New York is between $150,000-$230,000+ target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
