We are seeking a Senior Manager, Retail Media & Vendor Growth to help build and scale the next generation of vendor partnerships and retail media capabilities across the GNC ecosystem. 

Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Marketing, this role will sit at the intersection of retail media, vendor partnerships, digital marketing, technology, merchandising and commercial growth. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing GNC’s Retail Media Network strategy and capabilities while partnering with GNC’s vendor community to create high-impact programs that drive incremental growth for both GNC and its brand partners. 

This is a builder role for someone who can move between strategy, commercialization, product  and execution. The ideal candidate brings experience in retail media and/or product ownership, with the ability to translate business and partner needs into technology requirements and work closely with IT and cross-functional teams to build the capabilities required to scale GNC’s retail media ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Vice President of Digital Marketing to develop and operationalize GNC’s Retail Media Network strategy, including the roadmap, capabilities, go-to-market approach and commercialization model.
  • Define and package GNC’s retail media offerings across relevant owned and paid channels, including GNC.com, CRM, paid media, social, influencer/creator, content, in-store and emerging media opportunities.
  • Establish the roadmap of capabilities required to evolve GNC’s Retail Media Network and prioritize opportunities based on vendor demand, customer value, revenue potential and business impact.
  • Identify opportunities to expand GNC’s retail media capabilities through new platforms, data, audiences, technology, media formats and strategic partnerships.
  • Establish scalable processes for campaign planning, activation, measurement, reporting and optimization.
  • Track retail media pipeline, vendor participation, campaign performance, revenue and adoption against established goals.
  • Serve as the business/capability owner for key Retail Media Network capabilities, partnering closely with IT, Digital Product, Data, Analytics and other technology stakeholders.
  • Translate the Retail Media Network strategy into a prioritized product and technology roadmap, identifying the capabilities required to support GNC’s long-term vision.
  • Gather and translate business, vendor and user needs into clear business requirements, use cases, user stories and product requirements for technology & product teams.
  • Partner with IT to evaluate and develop capabilities across areas such as audience activation, first-party data, onsite media, offsite media, campaign management, vendor self-service, measurement, reporting and closed-loop attribution.
  • Own business prioritization of the RMN technology backlog, balancing near-term commercial opportunities with longer-term platform scalability.
  • Partner with technical teams throughout discovery, development, testing and implementation to ensure solutions meet business and vendor needs.
  • Evaluate potential build, buy or partner solutions and support the assessment of retail media technology platforms and third-party partners.
  • Develop business cases for technology investments by connecting capability development to potential vendor adoption, revenue and incremental business impact.
  • Establish feedback loops with vendor partners and internal teams to continuously improve the RMN product and capability roadmap.
  • Ensure new capabilities are successfully commercialized by translating technology development into clear vendor-facing products and solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic growth partner to key GNC vendors, identifying opportunities to grow their business within the GNC ecosystem beyond traditional promotional support.
  • Develop annual and quarterly vendor growth strategies tied to GNC priorities, consumer insights, category opportunities and key cultural or seasonal moments.
  • Translate vendor business objectives into integrated programs that connect marketing investment to measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Build relationships with vendor marketing, media, shopper marketing and commercial teams to identify incremental investment and partnership opportunities.
  • Partner with Merchandising and other internal stakeholders to ensure vendor growth strategies align with category priorities, product launches, innovation and broader business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for test-and-learn programs, pilots and longer-term strategic partnerships.
  • Develop multi-vendor programs that bring complementary brands together around shared consumer needs, behaviors and occasions.
  • Build scalable GNC-owned platforms around opportunities such as healthy aging, weight management, sports performance, women’s health, everyday wellness, recovery and New Year transformation.
  • Develop both vendor-specific programs and cross-category platforms designed to unlock incremental vendor investment while strengthening GNC’s relationship with consumers.
  • Partner across Media, Social, Influencer, CRM, eCommerce, Merchandising and other teams to bring integrated programs to market.
  • Help establish the commercial model for GNC’s Retail Media Network, including packaging, pricing, investment tiers and partnership structures.
  • Identify and develop new sources of incremental vendor and retail media revenue.
  • Build business cases and pilot programs that demonstrate the value of expanded vendor investment.
  • Develop Joint Business Plan opportunities with strategic vendors that connect marketing investment to shared growth objectives.
  • Maintain visibility into the vendor opportunity pipeline and provide regular reporting on investment, revenue, activation and performance.
  • Use vendor feedback and commercial performance to help prioritize future RMN product and technology development.
  • Serve as a key connector across Digital Marketing, IT, Digital Product, Data & Analytics, Merchandising, eCommerce, CRM, Finance and Legal.
  • Translate commercial opportunities into clear activation plans, technology requirements, roles, timelines and measurement frameworks.
  • Influence across teams without direct authority and drive complex initiatives from concept through launch.
  • Present strategies, business cases, product roadmaps, program results and recommendations to senior internal stakeholders and external vendor leadership.
  • This position may be based in either:
  • Pittsburgh, PA in a hybrid work environment, with an expectation of 3-4 days per week in the office; or
  • New York Metro Area, working remotely with up to 50% travel to support store engagement, field testing, business reviews, leadership meetings, and visits to the Pittsburgh headquarters.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience across retail media, product management/product ownership, commerce media, vendor marketing, strategic partnerships, digital media or related disciplines.
  • Experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager or business owner for technology-enabled marketing, media, eCommerce or data capabilities strongly preferred.
  • Experience partnering with IT, engineering, product and data teams to translate business needs into technology requirements and roadmaps.
  • Understanding of agile product development, including requirements gathering, user stories, backlog prioritization, testing and implementation.
  • Experience with retail media technology, ad tech, martech, audience platforms, first-party data and/or measurement solutions strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing integrated marketing programs that drive measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Experience working with brand/vendor partners and identifying opportunities to grow investment and deepen partnerships.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to connect technology investment, marketing strategy and revenue growth.
  • Experience developing business cases, partnership proposals, media packages or Joint Business Plans.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with retail media measurement, attribution and incrementality.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial builder mentality with the ability to create structure, processes and capabilities in an evolving environment.
