About the Role

As Engineering Manager for Workload Management, you will lead engineers building Graphcore’s Kubernetes ecosystem. This is a people leadership role, grounded in deep software and cloud native experience.
Your team will integrate new accelerator hardware into Kubernetes environments. Their work will help AI workloads run reliably, efficiently and at scale.
You will own delivery, quality assurance and team development. That means mentoring engineers, shaping priorities, removing blockers and keeping stakeholders clear on progress.
This role sits at the point where cloud software, AI infrastructure and hardware integration meet. You will help turn complex platform challenges into production ready capability.
The Workload Management team develops Kubernetes services and components for AI compute infrastructure. They solve problems across scheduling, cluster reliability, deployment automation, failover and distributed cloud systems.
Work happens through clear ownership, practical technical debate and close partnership with Platform Engineering, AI and Software Engineering teams. Engineers are trusted to speak up, move quickly and make decisions close to the work.
You will set direction through clarity, coaching and sound judgement. The team needs a manager who can lead people well and understand the technical trade offs.
- At least 6 years’ line management experience, with a software engineering background
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes and cloud native technologies
- Proven ability to lead delivery across complex, real world engineering challenges
- Experience mentoring engineers and supporting meaningful career development
- Strong communication skills, including work with senior stakeholders
- Experience planning Agile work, managing priorities, risks, issues and dependencies
