LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE--ONCOLOGY

Very busy Department of Oncology seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to perform standard duties within scope of practice. Registered Nurses will also be considered for this position.

• →Provides direct patient care primarily within the Injection Room, including
  pediatric vaccinations.
• →May include scheduling appointments, obtains pre-certification, does patient call back as directed.
• →Provides I.V. care for patients according to Clinic standards and certification if needed.
• →Provides medical treatments including injections/immunizations as directed by the physician.
• →Records vital signs, medication administered and performs other tasks within the EMR.
• →Assists with patient teaching and planning.
• →Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
• →Prepare equipment and assists physician with medical treatments, exams and surgical procedures if needed.
• →Maintains a safe and therapeutic patient care environment.
• →Complies with the System's infection control policies and procedures including Body Substance Isolation (BSI) and the Exposure Control Plan which reflects OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.
• →Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all policies and procedures and ability to reference them from appropriate books and manuals.
• →Other duties as necessary / assigned.

• One year experience in related field of nursing and/or area of specialty.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with high focus on quality patient care.
• Proficient computer skills with EMR experience.
• Adhere to HIPAA/OSHA/BLOODBORNE PATHOGEN regulations; maintain required workplace trainings.
• Current AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS).
• IV Certification helpful.
