Responsibilities

As a working Team Lead, this position actively performs complex operational functions while providing leadership, training, quality control, and oversight for Deposit Operations staff. Responsibilities include:

  • →Support deposit products, payment systems, card operations, and member inquiries.
  • →Responsible for supervision, training, 1-1 coaching and reviews of direct reports.
  • →Review complex transactions, adjustments, reconciliations, and exception items.
  • →Maintain operational controls, documentation, audit trails, and security standards.
  • →Oversee card production, inventory, settlements, reporting, and quality control.
  • →Prepare and submit the Visa Quarterly Operating Certificate.
  • →Monitor fraud, ACH risk, card activity, and losses; implement mitigation strategies.
  • →Coordinate card services and operational support with vendors and internal departments.
  • →Analyze fraud, ACH, card, and risk data for Board, management, and ERM reporting.
  • →Track performance metrics and key performance indicators.
  • →Manage the annual ACH Audit and ACH Risk Assessment.
  • →Ensure compliance with NACHA, Regulation E, OFAC, BSA, UCC, and Credit Union policies.
  • →Coordinate audit, examination, and operational review responses and corrective actions.
  • →Maintain procedures, workflows, job aids, and operational documentation.
  • →Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, service, controls, and risk management.
  • →Participate in system upgrades, testing, and implementation projects.
  • →Oversee legal documents, including levies, subpoenas, garnishments, Treasury reclamations, dormant accounts, and escheatment.
  • →Deliver exceptional service to members and internal business partners.
  • →Maintain knowledge of Credit Union products, services, systems, and procedures.
  • →Provide backup support across departmental functions and perform other assigned duties.
  • →Demonstrate Greenwood Credit Union's core values and maintain a professional work environment.

 

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial services and deposit operations
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
  • AAP Certification (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of:
    • ACH operations and NACHA rules
    • Deposit and payment systems
    • Fraud trends and mitigation practices
    • General accounting principles and reconciliations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail with audit and quality control mindset
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant banking systems (e.g., Fiserv DNA)
  • Commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and member service excellence
  • Willingness to work required hours and overtime as needed

  • Managers are responsible for ensuring their own compliance with the Credit Union's information security policies, procedures, and standards, and for actively promoting a culture of security within their teams. They must ensure that employees complete required training, follow established controls, and that any risks or incidents are promptly addressed and escalated in accordance with NCUA and FFIEC expectations.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: speak, hear, sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach and grasp with hands and arms, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include those required to use computers for up to 8 hours a day.
  • The position is located in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
