Lead Solution Architect - Capital Projects

Position Summary

Provide end-to-end Digital & Technology solution architecture leadership for the Global Supply Chain capital projects portfolio, with primary focus on the Upper Merion Flex Factory. Shape architecture from concept and feasibility through design, delivery and operational handover, ensuring capital investments deliver secure, resilient, compliant, composable and future-ready manufacturing capabilities. Act as the architecture design authority across manufacturing, engineering, quality, automation, data, cloud, cybersecurity and enterprise platforms. Align project teams, GSC Digital & Technology, enterprise functions and external partners around an integrated architecture that supports immediate programme outcomes while creating reusable and scalable capabilities for the wider manufacturing network. 

• →Own end-to-end solution architecture for the capital projects portfolio, including the Flex Factory 

• →Translate business, engineering and site requirements into coherent current-state, transition-state and target-state architectures. 

• →Define integrated designs across manufacturing, engineering, quality, automation, data, cloud and enterprise platforms. 

• →Apply composable architecture principles to promote reuse, interoperability and avoidance of siloed or duplicative technology. 

• →Act as architecture design authority at programme stage gates and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations. 

• →Manage cross-site, cross-domain and supplier architecture dependencies, decisions and risks. 

• →Develop solution options and provide cost, value, risk and feasibility input to investment decisions. 

• →Identify architecture exceptions and escalate material decisions through the appropriate GSC architecture governance forums. 

• →Maintain architecture artefacts, roadmaps and decision records for the capital portfolio. 

• →Represent GSC Architecture with programme leaders, Engineering, sites, suppliers and enterprise functions. 

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: 

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering,  

• 8+ years of experience in solving architecture, engineering technology, manufacturing technology or related disciplines. 

• Experience leading architecture for large, complex capital programs or site transformations. 

• Experience integrating manufacturing, automation, engineering, quality, cloud, data and enterprise platforms. 

• Experience operating in a regulated environment and working with global, cross-functional teams and external suppliers. 

      If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: 

• TOGAF or an equivalent architecture certification is preferred. 

• Strong knowledge of solution architecture, manufacturing systems, operational technology, cloud technologies and systems integration. 

• Working knowledge of cybersecurity, resilience, data architecture and regulated-system delivery. 

• Ability to develop architecture options, articulate trade-offs and influence senior business and technology stakeholders. 

• Strong facilitation, communication, negotiation and supplier-management skills. 

• Ability to work effectively across global teams, cultures, functions and sites.
