About the Role

Golden Star Technology (GST) is seeking an experienced Journeyman Low Voltage / Structured Cabling Installer to join our growing team in Cerritos, CA.

This hands-on role is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and support of structured cabling, low-voltage infrastructure, network cabling, fiber optic, and audiovisual (AV) systems across a variety of commercial, education, healthcare, and government environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot structured cabling, low-voltage, fiber optic, and network infrastructure systems
• Perform cable pulls, terminations, cable drops, labeling, and testing for copper and fiber optic cabling
• Install and support AV systems, including displays, projectors, video conferencing equipment, AV racks, and related technologies
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and project documentation
• Install cable pathways, racks, cabinets, supports, and associated hardware
• Assist with system layout, installation planning, and project execution
• Configure, update, and support AV control systems and related software as required
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, customers, and vendors to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule
• Mentor and support junior technicians while promoting installation best practices
• Maintain a professional customer-facing presence and represent the GST brand
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and industry installation standards

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in structured cabling, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, network infrastructure, AV installation, or related technology projects
• Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, copper, fiber optic, single-mode, and multimode cabling
• Proven ability to install, terminate, test, certify, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems
• Strong knowledge of industry installation standards, cable management, testing equipment, and best practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and construction documents
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills
• Team-oriented, dependable, and detail-focused with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Willingness to learn new technologies and pursue industry certifications
• BICSI, manufacturer, AVIXA, CTS, or other relevant low-voltage, cabling, or AV certifications are a plus
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work safely on ladders, lifts, and elevated work areas
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as needed
• Must provide standard hand tools customarily used in the trade
