Adjusting and replacing defective parts, repairing broken equipment parts Cleaning, lubricating, and performing routine maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles Cleaning and maintenance of machine attachments such as winches, blades, and side booms When necessary, perform significant repair work. Notifying management of damaged or faulty equipment. Inspect and troubleshoot equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. To determine the repair required, use computerized and other testing equipment to diagnose defects or malfunctions. Adjust the equipment and repair or replace any broken parts. Maintain maintenance records and documentation. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation and that work meet manufacturer specifications. Work on heavy trucks to repair them. Working tools and service attachments Emission control systems must be tested and repaired. Requirements GED or high school diploma Heavy equipment mechanic certification. Work experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic is required. Knowledge of computer testing technologies. Possibility of lifting heavy machinery. Expertise in diesel engines and construction equipment. Ability to work after hours if necessary. Excellent communication abilities.
