Assisting with chemical solution preparation. Maintaining a neat and clean laboratory, as well as sterilizing all work surfaces and equipment. Inspecting materials and equipment on a regular basis and ordering more as needed. Other workers involved in chemical processing must be trained and monitored. Working with other engineers, chemists, and scientists to improve manufacturing processes and methods. Compiling technical reports and interpreting test results Keeping current with field advancements and sharing new information with colleagues. Requirements An associate's degree or equivalent. Additional math, biology, chemistry, and physics courses would be beneficial. An apprenticeship or on-the-job training that has been completed. Excellent understanding of lab safety. A working knowledge of computer science and statistics is advantageous. Excellent analytical, observational, and time management abilities. Ability to focus and follow instructions for extended periods of time.
