You’re passionate about quality education and community development, thrive in vibrant, rural coastal environments, and want to contribute to meaningful, real-world impact. You’re ready to step into a role where your pedagogical skills and leadership can help drive outcomes that matter.

At GVI, we’re looking for someone like you to join our team. This isn’t just a job - it’s an opportunity to contribute to something bigger, while growing both professionally and personally.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

In this role, you are the bridge between strategy and execution. Your work ensures that our programs are impactful, our teams are supported, and our presence continues to create meaningful, sustainable change.

You play a key role in delivering high-quality experiences while contributing to long-term impact in the communities and environments we work in.

🎯 WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Lead Project Delivery: Own the day-to-day logistics, delivery, and development of the Education Project within the local primary school.
  • Mentor Volunteers: Manage and coordinate teams of up to  6 volunteers, identifying their strengths to maximize classroom impact.
  • Diverse Instruction: Support the delivery of literacy, phonics, PEMAC (Physical Education, Music, Art, and Culture).
  • Strategic Assessment: Conduct reading assessments, develop student profiles, and set long-term learning goals.
  • Impact Tracking: Oversee monitoring strategies, ensuring accurate student progress tracking and project evaluation.
  • Model Leadership: Promote violence-free behavior management and inclusive education practices at all times.
  • Build Relationships: Maintain strong partnerships with local teachers and headteachers to integrate volunteer lessons into classroom schedules.

🚀 WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • You do not need to be a qualified teacher to apply, but a genuine passion for helping children develop confidence and a love for reading through literacy and phonics is essential.
  • Strong leadership and operational skills to manage diverse teams and complex schedules.
  • Ability to work in a remote, field-based environment with respect for diverse cultural perspectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust within the local community.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset to identify areas for project development and implement improvements.

Bonus if you also have:

  • TEFL/TESOL certification.
  • Experience working in the South Pacific or developing community contexts.
  • Previous experience with GVI.

🎉 WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • Monthly stipend
  • Accommodation and meals provided
  • Visa support (where applicable)
  • Emergency medical and travel insurance
  • Access to training and development opportunities
  • Opportunities for progression across our global locations
  • A collaborative, purpose-driven working environment
