About the Role
~1 min readAs we continue to invest within our Halfords marketing team, we’re looking for a dedicated Reddit Community Manager to join our Performance Marketing team. With AI and Generative Engine Optimisation transforming how customers discover brands, this role will focus on building an authentic, organic presence for Halfords across relevant subreddits ensuring our cycling and motoring products and services remain top of mind whether customers search traditionally or through emerging AI platforms.
You’ll shape and own Halfords Reddit strategy from the ground up, defining benchmarks, success measures and long‑term growth plans that establish a credible, sustainable brand footprint on the platform.
This role demands deep, hands‑on knowledge of Reddit’s culture and nuances, plus the ability to switch seamlessly between content creation, community engagement, crisis management and data‑driven planning. As Halfords Reddit specialist, you’ll guide marketing, social, PR and brand teams on best practice and help maximise the platform’s impact across the business.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Actively engage in core subreddits, building trust and authority by offering genuine value, answering questions, and sharing expertise never pushing a hard sell
- →You’ll shape and own Halfords Reddit strategy from the ground up, defining benchmarks, success measures and long‑term growth plans
- →Create Reddit‑native content such as long‑form guides and visual assets tailored to the tone and aesthetic of each community, aligned with brand content pillars
- →Partner with SEO to optimise post titles and content for discoverability in search
- →Use social listening tools to monitor brand mentions, sentiment and wider industry conversations
- →Collaborate with the Social Media team to feed Reddit insights into broader organic and paid strategies, identifying opportunities to repurpose themes across channels while maintaining consistent tone of voice
- →Work closely with PR and brand teams to identify, manage and mitigate potential crises
- →Build relationships with moderators and influential community members active in Halfords‑relevant threads
- →Lead “Reddit‑first” initiatives such as AMAs (Ask Me Anythings), Megathreads and coordinated product launches
- →Share community insights with product and marketing teams to help shape future offerings
- Proven experience in community management across social platforms, with a track record of nurturing engaged online communities
- Significant hands‑on Reddit experience you understand the platform’s culture, etiquette, and community dynamics inside out
- An active personal Reddit account with a history of meaningful participation
- Awareness of how Reddit content surfaces in search, plus familiarity with Reddit’s paid formats
- Strong writing skills with a human, self‑aware tone aligned to our brand tone of voice
- Experience handling negative or challenging threads with composure and clarity
- Confidence using Reddit’s native analytics and third‑party tools to report on reach, sentiment and performance
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and share actionable insights
- Sharp social listening abilities and a track record of turning insights into strategic recommendations
