Join our team as a Utility Project Manager where you'll oversee essential wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects across multiple communities. This role combines technical expertise with project management to ensure the protection of public health and the environment through well-maintained utility systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term (10-year) capital plans for wastewater and drainage infrastructure
  • Manage projects involving wastewater treatment plants, lift stations, collection systems, and stormwater/drainage improvements
  • Investigate and resolve system issues including plant upsets, lift station failures, and infiltration problems
  • Review technical specifications, scopes of work, and contracts for wastewater contractors
  • Support emergency response efforts for wastewater system failures
  • Prepare detailed reports on system performance, capital projects, and compliance status
  • Track regulatory requirements including discharge permits and reporting deadlines
  • Conduct regular field inspections to ensure quality and compliance
  • Analyze data to improve system performance and reliability
  • Work directly with licensed wastewater operators to ensure proper system operation
  • Support regional teams with troubleshooting and maintenance planning
  • Maintain relationships with contractors, engineers, and operators
  • Assist in training internal teams on wastewater best practices
  • 3-5 years of experience in wastewater, utility infrastructure, or environmental compliance
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local wastewater regulations
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes and collection systems
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities for wastewater system issues
  • Experience with regulatory agencies and licensed operators
  • Willingness to travel 25% or more based on project needs
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions and wastewater facilities
