POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Compliance Coordinator at Hawaiian Host Group, a CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) company, is a critical role responsible for ensuring that all product labels meet regulatory standards and accurately reflect product information and claims in accordance with relevant laws and industry policies.   The position also supports the organization by managing the technical document library and partnering with the sales, marketing, and innovation teams and other functions to support commercial needs.  This role is critical to ensuring products meet legal and regulatory requirements and can be marketed safely and effectively both domestically and internationally.

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills working with others, this role works closely with key functions in the business to ensure all labeling / packaging meets regulatory requirements, ensuring food safety standards are met.
  • Review, create, and maintain packaging, nutrition, ingredient, and allergen labels to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FTC, and other global regulations.​
  • Maintain the technical library, including master formulas, specification sheets, certificates, and other critical technical records. Ensure documents are organized, current, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with R&D, marketing, quality assurance, manufacturing, and procurement departments for product development and label accuracy.​
  • Support sales by providing required documentation for customer compliance, customer onboarding, and product approval processes.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory updates and industry standards, implementing label changes.​
  • Maintain claims substantiation, ensuring all product statements are supported and compliant.​
  • Maintain official compliance documentation, submit regulatory filings, and prepare reporting for management and government agencies.​
  • Support international regulatory requirements for labels destined for global distribution.​
  • Additional duties as assigned supporting the corporate FSQA function at Hawaiian Host Group.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology/Microbiology, Chemistry or other relevant degree.  Relevant technical certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience gained through internships or early career roles in manufacturing or technical coordination.
  • Strong verbal, written, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, and capacity to quickly learn new concepts and tools.
  • Willingness to learn documentation practices, risk‑assessment methods, and how to collaborate across teams.
  • Basic exposure to CPG manufacturing processes and compliance standards is a plus.
  • Sitting for extended periods, often during meetings or computer work.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to work longer hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Standing and walking during work, meetings, events, presentations, or while on market visits.
  • Regular use of hands/fingers to operate computers, telephones, and standard office equipment.
  • Close visual acuity for analyzing data, viewing a computer screen, and preparing presentations/ reports.
  • Hearing and speaking clearly in person, over the phone, and when giving presentations.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (such as product, promotional items, or equipment) up to 25 pounds.
  • Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching when handling files or work materials.
    • May be required to travel via airplane, automobile, or other modes of transportation to execute job duties. 
  • The position requires talking to employees, supervisors and managers and outside trade persons/vendors; written communication to employees, supervisors, managers, and outside persons/vendors; responding to written or verbal requests; reading; composing written language; receiving verbal and written instructions.
