Emergency Driver/Operator

Description

Provide safe transportation and operations of ambulances and other vehicles while abiding by all state laws. At times this may involve assisting MCES or other staff members with additional tasks as requested.

• →Transports passengers via stretcher, isolette and wheelchair; transports items to various locations, ensuring proper care of items handled during transport.
• →Assists in unloading, moving, and/or setting up materials, equipment, stretcher, and/or isolette.
• →Assists with non-invasive medical tasks such as taking vitals signs and/or preparing medical equipment within the individuals scope of training.
• →Maintains applicable      records and documentation; prepares and maintains accurate transportation logs, vehicle consumption logs, and other relevant data as required.
• →Ensure that vehicles, and all associated equipment are clean and ready for use.
• →Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and/or infection control practices.
• →Operates communication devices needed to perform the missions of MCES.

High school diploma/GED. Completion of a pre-employment drug screen required. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:  Valid driver's license required. MS EMS drivers license within 2 weeks of hire. Emergency vehicles operations certifications within 2 weeks of hire, BLS healthcare provider within 6 months of hire.
