This loving and warmhearted bilingual family is seeking a dedicated long-term afternoon nanny to support their two young children and help create a calm, structured, and engaging rhythm to the school week. The family values connection, emotional awareness, consistency, and raising kind, respectful children within a warm home environment.

The family is intentionally seeking a nanny who can provide meaningful 1:1 attention during the afternoon hours, helping each child receive the structure, engagement, and support they thrive with after school. Parents are bilingual in Portuguese and English and place value on language exposure and cultural connection within the home.

Their priority is to find a long-term nanny for years to come who brings warmth, professionalism, strong emotional intelligence, and a proactive mindset into the home.

About the Children & Childcare Philosophy:

The family’s caregiving approach is centered on structure, emotional safety, movement, and active engagement throughout the afternoon. They believe children thrive when expectations are clear, routines are consistent, and adults respond with calm leadership and warmth.

Their oldest child, age 6, has an autism diagnosis and benefits greatly from a caregiver who understands how to create a supportive environment. She thrives with proactive guidance, smooth transitions, and movement integrated into the day. After school, she is most successful when she has opportunities for physical regulation through outdoor play, scooter rides, playground time, or playtime in the backyard. During colder months or poor weather, she continues to need high levels of movement through intentional indoor activities such as obstacle courses, sensory play, and structured physical engagement.

She may need additional time and space to regulate when frustrated or disappointed, and responds best to a nanny who remains calm, flexible, and emotionally attuned rather than overly rigid. Visual cues and clear communication are helpful tools.

The younger child, age 4, is affectionate, playful, and active. He thrives in a similarly structured environment that also allows for independence, creativity, and sibling connection. He responds well to encouragement, warmth, and guidance.

The ideal nanny will know how to create a steady rhythm to the afternoon by balancing decompression time after school, movement breaks, snacks, homework support, outings, and calm transitions into the evening. The overall expectation is a caregiver who can confidently manage a dynamic household while providing emotional grounding, structure, and thoughtful engagement tailored to each child’s needs.
