The Medical Director will play a critical role in ensuring accurate clinical documentation, risk capture, quality outcomes, and sustainable success in a rapidly evolving reimbursement landscape.

Position Summary

The Medical Director of Risk Adjustment provides physician leadership for enterprise risk adjustment strategy, clinical documentation improvement, and hierarchical condition category (HCC) capture initiatives across Hartford HealthCare's expanding value-based care and population health programs.

Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, coding, analytics, and payer partners, the Medical Director will develop and implement strategies that support accurate representation of patient complexity, optimize risk adjustment performance, and enhance quality and financial outcomes.

This physician leader serves as a trusted advisor and educator to providers, helping translate risk adjustment principles into meaningful clinical practice while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and documentation integrity

Required

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification in a recognized specialty.
• Eligibility for unrestricted Connecticut medical licensure.
• Minimum five years of clinical practice experience.
• Experience in value-based care, population health, Medicare Advantage, risk adjustment, clinical documentation improvement, or quality initiatives.
• Demonstrated physician leadership experience.
