EHS Safety Technician

The Safety Technician supports the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) program by promoting a safe workplace, ensuring compliance with OSHA and company requirements, conducting safety inspections, supporting employee training, investigating incidents, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. This position works closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify hazards and reduce workplace risks.

• Conduct routine facility and workplace safety inspections.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies.
• Assist with regulatory inspections and audits.
• Maintain safety records, permits, and documentation.

• Assist in investigating injuries, near misses, property damage, and environmental incidents.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action development.
• Track corrective actions to completion.
• Prepare incident reports and maintain investigation records.

• Deliver safety orientation for new employees.
• Conduct safety training on topics including:
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • PPE requirements
  • Hazard Communication
  • Forklift Safety
  • Emergency Response
  • Ergonomics
  • Fire Safety
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Promote employee participation in safety programs and committees.

• Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and risk assessments.
• Assist departments in developing safe work procedures.
• Monitor implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety.

• Assist with emergency response planning.
• Coordinate drills and evacuation exercises.
• Maintain emergency equipment inspection records.
• Support first aid, AED, and fire protection programs.

• Ability to walk production and warehouse areas for extended periods.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access equipment platforms.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and respiratory protection when required.

• Associate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

• 2+ years of manufacturing, distribution, warehouse, or industrial safety experience preferred.
• Experience working in OSHA-regulated facilities.

• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
• Understanding of incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Strong communication and training skills.
• Ability to audit facilities and identify hazards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
• Forklift Trainer Certification
