• →Install, modify, maintain, and repair marine and offshore fire protection piping and mechanical systems to approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer instructions, and applicable codes. 
• →Measure, lay out, route, cut, thread, groove, bevel, bend, fit, and assemble pipe and tubing in machinery spaces, deck areas, voids, and confined spaces. 
• →Install and align piping, flanges, fittings, valves, pumps, cylinders, manifolds, nozzles, actuators, supports, brackets, hangers, and equipment mounts. 
• →Verify materials, schedules, ratings, gaskets, fasteners, valve orientation, fit-up, slope, support spacing, torque, alignment, and component compatibility. 
• →Interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, spool drawings, bills of material, equipment manuals, and installation details. 
• →Perform pressure tests, flushing, leak checks, operational testing, and commissioning; document results and correct deficiencies. 
• →Troubleshoot leaks, restrictions, vibration, misalignment, damaged components, and other mechanical or piping issues; complete repairs or replacements. 
• →Support qualified rigging, equipment removal, positioning, alignment, bolting, and mechanical connection work. 
• →Coordinate with welders, electricians, shipfitters, vessel crews, shipyard personnel, inspectors, and other trades; maintain accurate work and material records. 
• →Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas; protect installed systems from damage or contamination. 
• →Follow all PPE, JSA, lockout/tagout, hot-work, confined-space, fall-protection, and site-specific safety requirements. 
• →Provide professional customer service and perform other duties as assigned. 

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of hands-on pipefitting, mechanical installation, industrial maintenance, shipyard, marine, or offshore experience; 3–5 years preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lay out, cut, thread, groove, bevel, fit, and assemble pipe, tubing, fittings, flanges, and valves.
• Knowledge of piping materials, schedules, pressure classes, joining methods, gaskets, bolted connections, supports, corrosion prevention, and common mechanical equipment.
• Ability to safely use pipe fabrication equipment, saws, grinders, drills, torque tools, tubing tools, chain falls, come-alongs, and related hand and power tools.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, schematics, spool drawings, layouts, specifications, bills of material, and OEM manuals.
• Experience with pumps, valves, manifolds, supports, pressure testing, flushing, leak checks, alignment, torque verification, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Basic rigging and welding, brazing, or soldering experience preferred; certification-required work must remain within current qualifications.
• Marine fire protection experience and familiarity with NFPA, SOLAS, USCG, CFR, and ABS requirements preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain required credentials, site access, training, and certifications.
• Ability to work nonstandard schedules and overtime and travel CONUS or OCONUS to vessel, shipyard, and offshore assignments, sometimes on short notice.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, communication, teamwork, adaptability, safe work habits, and the required hand tools.

• Regularly stand, walk, climb, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in restricted positions while handling piping, tools, fasteners, and mechanical components.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and help position heavier piping or equipment using approved team-lifting and rigging methods.
• Perform repetitive pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, fastening, torquing, cutting, grinding, drilling, and fitting.
• Work aboard vessels and in shipyards, machinery spaces, confined spaces, outdoor areas, at heights, and offshore amid noise, vibration, dust, heat, humidity, weather, low light, and moving equipment.
• Safely use required PPE, fall and respiratory protection, hand and power tools, pipe fabrication equipment, measurement devices, lifting devices, and specialty tools.
