Senior Validation - Test Lead Engineer

The successful candidate will manage and mentor a team of validation engineers while driving test strategy, execution, and quality assurance activities.

Candidates with backgrounds in Automotive, Aerospace, Telecom, Embedded Systems, SCADA, Industrial Control, or other safety-critical industries are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute validation and verification strategies.

• Review system requirements, design documents, and test specifications.

• Lead system integration, laboratory, and field testing activities.

• Investigate hardware and software issues.

• Support quality assurance and project delivery activities.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Validation & Test Engineers.

• Plan and coordinate validation activities across multiple project phases.

• Review and approve test cases, procedures, and reports.

• Mentor junior engineers and support their career development.

• Ensure compliance with project, quality, and safety processes.

• Coordinate issue investigation and root cause analysis activities.

• Interface with Development, System Engineering, Safety, and Project Management teams.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in testing, validation, or systems engineering.

• Strong understanding of embedded systems and system integration.

• Practical knowledge of verification and validation methodologies.

• Understanding of V-cycle development processes.

• Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in safety-critical systems.

• Exposure to Railway, Aerospace, Automotive, or Industrial Control projects.

• Familiarity with ETCS, ATP/ATC, or signalling systems.

• Knowledge of networking and telecommunication protocols.

• Familiarity with requirements and test management tools.

• Knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

• Awareness of CENELEC or functional safety standards.

• Italian language is an advantage but not required.

Training

Successful candidates will receive structured training on ETCS, railway signalling principles, European railway standards, and advanced validation methodologies.
