The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems within the facility, including boilers, HVAC systems, pumps, and associated controls. This role ensures all equipment functions efficiently and safely to support building operations and occupancy comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain boilers, air compressors, water treatment systems, and other central plant equipment.
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
- Monitor, record, and analyze equipment data; respond to alarms or unusual operating conditions.
- Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, and control systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Assist in energy management and conservation efforts by optimizing equipment performance.
- Respond to emergency calls for central plant equipment failures or system malfunctions.
- Collaborate with building engineers, contractors, and management on upgrades, renovations, and capital projects.
- Ensure all work complies with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (required); knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in central plant or commercial building maintenance.
- Knowledge of boiler and HVAC system operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with digital controls, building automation systems, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and communication skills.
